From Mitch Stewart: Yesterday, the President stood in front of a gathering of House Republicans and took questions for more than an hour, urging them to put aside partisanship and work together for the good of the country. In today’s Washington Post , Obama for America campaign manager David Plouffe penned an op-ed in which he admits that the Democratic Party received a resounding "wake-up call" from the Massachusetts special election on Tuesday, but he argues that the way forward is to continue to fight, and to show American people that they are capable of doing the hard things that voters sent them to Washington to do. [The 2010 midterms] will be a tough election for our party and for many Republican incumbents as well.

We’re about to enter the last hour of call time before polls close in Massachusetts, and it’s all hands on deck at OFA national headquarters here in D.C. A number of Democratic representatives have stopped by today to thank volunteers for their work, and to make calls themselves, including Sheila Jackson-Lee (D-TX).
As a long day of get out the vote calls and canvassing winds to a close, many people across the country will be settling in to wait for the returns from tonight’s Massachusetts special election. Across town, Obama for America campaign manager David Plouffe will be speaking at the George Washington University tonight, at an event that will also be live-streamed online.
